Sport Medicine
Sport Medicine Physicians are specialized in assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and sport injuries. They are also able to provide guidance on preventing injuries and maximizing physical health.
Dr. Bryan Lemenchick and Dr. Taylor Lougheed are certified by the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) and are members of the Ontario Medical Associations Section on Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Assessments include taking a thorough history of the injury or symptoms, a focused physical exam, reviewing or ordering imaging as required, and development of a treatment and follow-up plan.
Investigations may include labwork or imaging such as x-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, bone scans, or MRIs if required.
Treatments may include trials of activity modification, exercise prescription, various prescription medications including injections, and referrals to associated professionals as required.
Injection medications may include:
- Cortisone
- Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
- Autologous Protein Solution (APS) or “PRP+”
