Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy promotes physical wellness and function by helping to diagnose and treat physical conditions or injuries that limit body movement. This includes a thorough assessment and development of a treatment plan that can include education, activity modification, various stretches and exercises, soft tissue release, manual therapy, and supplementary treatments including ultrasound, dry needling, and kinesiotaping.
All of our physiotherapists are certified by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and have extensive experience working with the full range of orthopaedic patients of all ages. They can also be integral in supporting training plans and can prevent or reduce the risk of injuries. Our clinic philosophy is ‘movement is medicine’ and you will find a significant active component to our physiotherapy treatments.
At NBSM we have several main areas of physiotherapy expertise:
Orthopedic Physiotherapy with a focus on injuries or pain related to muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments. Common conditions include:
- Acute musculoskeletal injuries
- Osteoarthritis
- Concussions
- Repetitive strain disorders
- Post-fracture or surgery rehabilitation
Our orthopedic physiotherapists: Virali Sangani, Nikolas Bon, Jenna Wilkes, Vickie Grierson, and Doug Linklater
Sport Physiotherapy with a focus on athletes and active individuals with MSK injuries aiming to return to competition. This can include those getting started through to those competing at an elite level.

Concussion Rehab is best supported with a multidisciplinary approach. Physiotherapy-specific treatments may include manual therapy, exercise therapy, and graduated return to activities with a focus on improving balance, coordination, and strength. There may also be a role for vestibular rehab, occupational therapy, counselling, etc.
While all of our physiotherapists have experience with concussions, Nikolas Bon has a special interest and is a certified SHIFT Concussion Management practitioner.
